Nicholas Laughton

Nicholas "Donnie" Laughton is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in engineering and leadership roles, currently serving as Associate Director of Engineering at Recursion since March 2022. Laughton also holds the rank of Captain in the Canadian Armed Forces, overseeing various operational roles since January 2010. Previously, significant positions were held at Telesat, including Director of Technical Applications and Lead Architect for Telesat Lightspeed, where key contributions included developing software architecture and systems operations for a next-generation satellite constellation. Laughton possesses solid academic credentials, holding a Master of Applied Science and a Bachelor of Engineering from Carleton University, along with a Bachelor of Science from Queen's University.
