Mario Pena has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Mario is currently working as the General Counsel at Redzone since August 2022. Prior to that, from January 2017 to August 2022, they held multiple roles at Diebold Nixdorf, including Senior Director, Commercial (Global) and General Commercial Counsel (North America).
Before joining Diebold Nixdorf, Mario worked at Wincor Nixdorf from December 2013 to January 2017. Mario served as the Legal Counsel, North America, and Assistant Division Counsel, North America during their tenure.
From March 2011 to October 2013, Mario worked at Diageo North America, Inc. as a Senior Legal Counsel. Mario was responsible for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating various sales, procurement, and real estate agreements in the United States, Canada, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Prior to that, Mario worked as an Associate at Dickstein Shapiro LLP (formerly Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge LLP) from May 2006 to March 2011. Mario was involved in advising on business acquisition and divestiture transactions and coordinating legal reviews by specialist attorneys.
Mario also has experience as a self-employed attorney, practicing in various areas of law from March 2003 to May 2006. Mario handled real estate, bankruptcy, immigration, criminal defense, and family law matters, particularly serving Spanish-speaking clientele. Mario collaborated with other attorneys to address clients' multiple legal needs.
At the beginning of their career, from August 2000 to March 2003, Mario worked as an Associate at Paul Hastings. Mario primarily represented emerging-growth companies in private equity and debt financings, conducted due diligence for transactions, and provided legal advice on securities and corporate law compliance.
Overall, Mario Pena has gained extensive legal expertise and experience through their roles in both corporate and self-employed settings, with particular strengths in commercial law, transactional practice, and serving diverse clientele.
Mario Pena has an extensive education history. Mario started their academic journey at Cornell University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Government from 1990 to 1993. After completing their undergraduate studies, they furthered their education at NYU Stern School of Business. Mario attended from 1993 to 1999 and earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Finance and Accounting. Mario's pursuit of knowledge didn't stop there, as they moved on to the New York University School of Law from 1997 to 2000. During this period, they obtained a Juris Doctor degree, specializing in Law. These educational achievements spanned over a decade and reflect Mario Pena's dedication to acquiring a strong foundation in both government, business, finance, accounting, and law.
