Luigi Pontieri

Luigi Pontieri is a Research Statistician at Region Hovedstaden since January 2020, with previous experience as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Københavns Universitet and the University of Pennsylvania. During the tenure at Københavns Universitet from September 2016 to September 2019, Luigi designed behavioral assays, conducted statistical analyses of biological data using R, and contributed to scientific manuscript writing and presentations at international conferences. The role at the University of Pennsylvania included pioneering artificial selection experiments in ants and applying multivariate statistics for chemical data analysis. Luigi earned a PhD from the Centre for Social Evolution, University of Copenhagen, focusing on social organization in invasive ant species, and holds a Master of Science degree in Animal Behavior and Ethology from Università degli Studi di Firenze, complemented by a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna.
