Dan Kihanya

Dan Kihanya is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in supporting and advising startups, particularly those led by underrepresented founders. Currently serving as the Director of Path Ahead Ventures at REI since July 2021, Kihanya focuses on designing and operating startup accelerator and investment programs for outdoor businesses. As a co-founder and host of the podcast Founders Unfound, Kihanya showcases exceptional tech founders from diverse backgrounds. Kihanya holds advisory roles at Find Ventures and the Washington Technology Industry Association's Startup Advisory Board, and has served as a mentor for Techstars. Additional contributions include strategic advising for Harlequin Hawk Company and investments in Wizely, alongside previous leadership at Impact Hub Bellevue. Kihanya's educational background includes a BSE in Mechanical Engineering from Princeton University and an MBA in Marketing and Management of Technology from the University of California, Berkeley.
