Shane Albright

Principal Security Engineer at REN-ISAC

Shane Albright joined REN-ISAC in 2021. He began his career as an IT Support Center computer consultant at Indiana University over fifteen years ago. After a few years working as an infrastructure specialist in enterprise IT for a software company, he returned to IU as a senior system administrator at the Student Health Center where, for over a decade, he was a leader in the management and security of IT infrastructure and services and the protection of electronic protected health information (ePHI).

Shane received an Associate of Applied Science degree from Ivy Tech Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana State University. He holds a number of information technology and information security certifications, including a GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC) certification and a GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) certification.

Outside of work, Shane enjoys traveling (he's visited over half of the EU’s member states), discovering great hole-in-the-wall restaurants, listening to Merlin Mann's podcasts, and endlessly rewatching British comedies from the 1990s and 2000s.
