Ross Yannayon currently serves as the Director of Computing, Infrastructure, and Services at the Renaissance Computing Institute, where responsibilities include providing advanced computational and data infrastructure support for various research projects. Prior to this role, Ross held several leadership positions, including Director of Infrastructure and Operations at the UNC System Office, overseeing IT systems for higher education, and Director of Quality Assurance at SLEDVision, INC, focusing on vendor management for government and educational institutions. Additional experience includes managerial roles at IBM, GlassHouse Technologies, and the North Carolina IT Services, among others. Ross holds dual Bachelor's degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics from Penn State University.

An institute of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, RENCI was launched in 2004 as a collaborative effort involving UNC Chapel Hill, Duke University, and North Carolina State University.
