Wen M. Andrews has extensive academic experience, serving as Professor and Program Head in the Department of Architectural & Civil Engineering Technology at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College since July 1988. Additionally, Andrews held positions as an Adjunct Instructor and Assistant Professor in the Department of Interior Design at Virginia Commonwealth University from September 2001 to August 2007. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. student in Environmental Design & Planning at Virginia Tech (1999-2001), a Master's in Architecture from the University of Colorado Denver (1983-1985), a Bachelor's in Architecture from the University of Hawaii at Manoa (1977-1980), and a B.S. in Business Administration from The Citadel (1967-1971).

Reynolds Community College served more than 11,000 students during the 2021-22 academic year. It also assisted more than 5,500 learners through its workforce development division, the Community College Workforce Alliance.
