Patty Johnson is an accomplished designer and educator with extensive experience in furniture design and consulting. Currently serving as the Graduate Program Director and Associate Professor at the Rhode Island School of Design since September 2016, Patty Johnson has also held the position of designer and consultant at Patty Johnson Design since January 2000. Notable contributions include consulting for the Barbados Investment Development Corporation on a comprehensive furniture sector program in 2015 and serving as a design consultant for the Trade Facilitation Office of Canada, where the Vodunuvo Collection was developed to showcase Haitian culture in contemporary design. Previous roles include creative direction at New Caribbean Design and collaboration on design and craft projects with indigenous producers through North South Project. Patty Johnson holds a Master of Arts in Design from Central Saint Martins and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from the University of Toronto.
