Petrena serves as Ribbon’s Senior Vice President of Human Resources where she is responsible for leading the company’s global workforce strategies. Prior to the merger of GENBAND and Sonus, Petrena served as Vice President of Human Resources for GENBAND for 8 years. In this role she was responsible for working closely with the senior leadership team to align Human Resources strategy and support with the organization’s global business and go-to-market objectives.
Petrena has more than 20 years of Human Resources leadership experience in the telecommunications and Information Technology industries, specializing in the areas of Talent and Performance Management, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards and mergers & acquisitions.
She came to GENBAND as part of the company’s Nortel Carrier Voice and Application Server business acquisition, and previously worked with Newbridge and other start-up organizations. Petrena has been recognized with several awards including the “Spirit of GENBAND” for her leadership role in the GENBAND/Nortel integration.
She holds an Honor’s degree in Social Science from the University of Western Ontario.
