Maria Pusa

Maria Pusa has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Maria began their career as a Research Trainee at Helsinki University of Technology, Department of Physics in 2004. Maria then served as a Teaching Assistant at the same university's Department of Mathematics from 2003 to 2004. In 2005, they joined VTT as a Research Trainee, later progressing to the role of Senior Scientist/Research Scientist. At VTT, they made significant contributions to the field of nuclear reactor simulation and safety analyses, publishing numerous journal papers and achieving international recognition. Maria also played a key role in the development team of the reactor physics simulation software Serpent. In 2016, Maria joined Comptel as a Data Scientist, and later transitioned to Fourkind in 2018, where they worked as a Data Science Consultant/Principal Data Science Consultant until 2021. Currently, they hold the position of Principal Data Scientist, Team Lead at Rovio Entertainment Corporation, where they continue to utilize their expertise in data science.

Maria Pusa completed a Master's Degree in Mathematics from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan in 2007. Maria then went on to obtain a Doctor of Science (Tech) degree in Mathematics from Aalto University in 2013.
