Suzanne Buchan

Suzanne Buchan currently serves as the Head of MA Animation at the Royal College of Art since June 2018 and has held the position of Editor in Chief for "animation: an interdisciplinary journal" at Sage Publications since 2005. Previous roles include Professor of Animation Aesthetics and Director of the Art and Design Research Institute at Middlesex University, where responsibilities encompassed research strategy, consultancy, and PhD supervision. Additionally, Suzanne Buchan has co-curated significant exhibitions at the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich and has served as a guest professor at the Pacific Northwest College of Art. A founding co-director of the Fantoche International Animation Film Festival, Suzanne Buchan brings extensive experience in animation aesthetics, research, and academic leadership, underpinned by a PhD in Film Studies from the University of Zurich.
