Ryan MacDermid serves as the Vice President of Risk Management and Legal at Russel Metals since March 2015. Prior to this role, Ryan held various positions at Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP, including Partner and Associate, and completed internships as an Articling Student and Summer Student at the same firm. Ryan's experience also includes a brief tenure as an Articling Student at the Ontario Securities Commission in 2009. Academically, Ryan holds an ICD.D from the Institute of Corporate Directors' Director Education Program at the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management, a Strategic Metals Management Certificate from Washington University in St. Louis, a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from York University - Osgoode Hall Law School, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA. Honours) in Political Science & History from Queen's University.

The Company provides processing and distribution services to a base of approximately 43, 000 end users through a network of 50 locations in Canada and 14 locations in the United States. The Company's network of metals service centers carries a line of metal products in a range of sizes, shapes and specifications, including carbon hot rolled and cold finished steel, pipe and tubular products, stainless steel, aluminum and other non-ferrous specialty metals. The Company's energy products operations distribute oil country tubular goods (OCTG), line pipe, tubes, flanges, valves and fittings to the energy industry. The Company's steel distributors segment is engaged in selling steel to other steel service centers and equipment manufacturers.
