Caroline Kowall has over 20 years of experience in the legal industry. Caroline began their career in 2001 as a Lawyer in International Finance at Ashurst. Caroline then moved to Milbank Tweed as a Lawyer in Project Finance/ Acquisition Finance in 2005. In 2006, they became a Lawyer in Structured Finance at Gide Loyrette Nouel MNP. In 2007, they were International Deal Counsel at ETV Capital Limited. In 2009, they worked as a Consultant at BOOST & Co, where they were responsible for fund formation, structuring and fund raising. In 2010, they were Senior Legal Counsel at Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo), where they managed internal and external legal services relating to Private Equity, Private Debt and Venture Capital/ Special Opportunities investments. From 2016 to 2022, they were Managing Director, Compliance, Legal, Director Legal and Director, Legal at CPP Investments | Investissements RPC, where they were responsible for designing, rolling out and overseeing compliance risks due diligence and asset management framework, responsible for the legal aspects of global privacy, cybersecurity and information governance, and responsible for all matters compliance related in EMEA. Caroline is currently General Counsel, Head of Compliance and Corporate Secretary and Senior Vice President, Legal, Compliance and Corporate Secretary at S4 Capital Group.
Caroline Kowall completed an LLM in IP Law and Competition Law at UCL from 1997-1998. Prior to that, they obtained a Maitrise in Droit des affaires, Certificat de droit europeen from Université Robert Schuman (Strasbourg III) from 1993-1997.
