Principal Research Fellow at SAHMRI

Karen Best, PhD, is an experienced Principal Research Fellow and Director of the SAHMRI Clinical Trials Platform, with a robust background in clinical research, project management, and midwifery. At SAHMRI since 2012, significant contributions include leading a follow-up study on children from the DOMInO trial. Prior roles include Clinical Project Manager at Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute, overseeing the VIPER-BP Study, and Clinical Trial Coordinator at the Women's and Children's Health Research Institute, managing a national randomized controlled trial. With extensive clinical experience as a Midwife and Registered Nurse, Karen holds a PhD in Medicine from the University of Adelaide and a Post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Trial Management from the University of Canberra.
