Anissa Malady

Anissa Malady is an accomplished library professional with extensive experience in community engagement, reference services, and program coordination. Currently, Anissa serves as Librarian II and Community Engagement Coordinator at the San Francisco Public Library, a position held since January 2019. Prior roles include Librarian I, II, and III at the City of South San Francisco, focusing on patron outreach, social media coordination, and technology training. Previous work includes serving as Project Coordinator and Library Archive Consultant at the Center for Sex and Culture, where the mission was to provide a judgement-free space for diverse audiences. Anissa has also contributed as a Freelance Cataloger for The Digital Transgender Archive. Anissa holds a Master of Library and Information Science from San Jose State University, a Bachelor’s degree in Art History from San Francisco State University, and an Associate's degree from the City College of San Francisco in Library Technology.
