Susan Blum

Susan Blum currently serves as Vice Provost and Associate Vice President of Applied Research and Continuing Education at Saskatchewan Polytechnic, where effective leadership is provided in the development and management of applied research and innovation initiatives. Prior to this role, Susan held various leadership positions at the University of Saskatchewan, including Director of Research Services and Ethics, where duties involved promoting strategic alignment, overseeing research administration, and ensuring compliance with evolving regulations. Additionally, Susan has experience as Director of Finance and Administration at Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation, where comprehensive ethics policies were developed and implemented. Early career experience includes serving as a Polar Bear Biologist for the Government of Nunavut, managing research programs and addressing inter-jurisdictional management issues. Susan holds a Ph.D. in Biology/Ecotoxicology from the University of Saskatchewan and an Honours B.Sc. from Lakehead University.
