Lead Specialist Civil Engineering In The Engineering Centre Of Expertise at Sasol

Ian Wilson has extensive work experience in civil engineering and project management. Ian started their career at ArcelorMittal South Africa in 1996 as an Engineer in Training and later became a Civil Project Engineer. Ian then took on roles as a Project Manager and Senior Project Manager, managing multi-discipline projects and overseeing the civil engineering department. In 2007, they joined Sasol as a Senior Project Manager and eventually became a Lead Specialist Civil Engineering, responsible for leading a team of engineers and providing technical direction for petrochemical plant design. In 2014, they transitioned to the role of Senior Project Controls Manager, where they were responsible for planning, managing, and mitigating cost and schedule issues on projects.

Ian Wilson attended Grey College from 1986 to 1990. Ian then went on to study at the University of Pretoria, where they completed a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) degree in 1995 and a Bachelor of Engineering Honours (Technology Management) degree in 1998. Finally, they pursued a Master of Engineering (Development and Management) degree at North-West University and graduated in 2009.
