JP Meintjes has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. JP began their career as a Locum Lecturer at North West University in 1991 and later worked as an Associate at Rooth & Wessels Attorneys until 1996. JP then joined NATREF - National Oil Refiners of South Africa as a Contracts Manager, followed by a role as a Commercial Manager. In 2000, they joined Sasol Gas as a Sasol Natural Gas Project: Contract Specialist. JP later became a Legal Advisor at Sasol Oil from 2001 to 2004. JP then returned to Sasol Gas, where they held various positions including Legal Advisor, Manager of Pipelines, Gas Supply and Legal, and Manager of Legal, Regulation, and Compliance. In 2011, they joined Sasol Group Services Proprietary Limited as a General Manager Legal: Energy, and in 2014, they became the Vice President Legal: Energy at Sasol, where they are responsible for managing the legal team and overseeing the Group's Competition Law Centre of Expertise and Governance Law Centre of Expertise.

JP Meintjes completed a B Comm Law degree with a focus on Accountancy and Private Law from North-West University / Noordwes-Universiteit in 1986-1988. Later, from 1989 to 1990, they pursued an LL B degree in Legal studies from the same institution.
