Sven Godorr has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Sven started their career as a Lecturer of Chemical Engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand, where they taught various courses and supervised student projects. Afterward, they worked as a Process Engineer and Senior Process Engineer at Sasol Technology, troubleshooting chemical plant operations and designing novel processes. Sven then joined Linde Engineering as a Prozessingenieur, where they were involved in the development of ethylene oxide-ethylene glycol technology and the production of low-cost methanol. Upon returning to Sasol, they held roles such as Manager Process Research and Manager Research and Development, overseeing various research and development functions and managing the company's portfolio of Fischer Tropsch process technologies. Most recently, Sven worked at Sasol as the Vice President Technology, responsible for research and development, customer support, product development, applications support, innovation, and intellectual property management for a global specialty chemicals business.

Sven Godorr received their BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1988. Sven then pursued an MSc in Chemical Engineering from the same university, which they completed in 1991. Finally, Sven successfully obtained a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1999.
