Alexander Brand

Alexander Brand is a Senior Scientist at Savannah River National Lab, specializing in the construction of radiation transport models using Monte Carlo methods since January 2015. Prior experience includes roles as an Academic Tutor for Math and Science, and Instructor for various dance styles at Austin Social Dance. Alexander also served as a Graduate Research Assistant at The University of Texas at Austin, modeling thermal hydraulics for the UT-TRIGA reactor core and developing a thermocouple probe. Teaching Assistant responsibilities included developing coursework and assisting students in several nuclear engineering classes. Earlier, Alexander worked as a Laboratory Scientist at LyondellBasell, ensuring product quality in refinery operations. Academic credentials consist of a Ph.D. and Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, alongside a Bachelor's degree in Physics, all obtained from The University of Texas at Austin.
