Adam McIlrick

Adam McIlrick is an experienced media professional with a diverse background in journalism and editorial management. Currently serving as the Managing Editor of SBS World News in Australia since August 2021, Adam has previously held key positions such as Assignment Editor at Olympic Broadcasting Services, where oversight of 37 newsgathering teams during the Tokyo 2020 Olympics was pivotal. Prior experience includes senior editorial roles at BBC News, where leadership of teams and editorial strategies for a global audience were significant, and positions at CNN and Al Jazeera focusing on content production and reporting. A former Senior Journalist/Presenter at NBN News, Adam has consistently contributed to major news programs while building a solid foundation in communication through a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Newcastle.
