Daniel Rice currently serves as an Associate at the Climate Institute within Schmidt Sciences, starting in February 2024. Previously, Daniel worked as an Associate in Climate at Schmidt Futures from August 2020 to February 2024. Prior experience includes a role as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Yale Clinical and Affective Neuroscience Laboratory from April 2019 to August 2020 and as a Research Consultant at the Global Environment & Technology Foundation in the summer of 2018, where a scalable micro-insurance product was developed in rural Ghana. Daniel's research experience also includes a summer position at the Australian Institute of Health Innovation focusing on automation in primary health care, and a summer internship at the Public Interest Advocacy Centre Ltd researching voting rights for individuals with disabilities. Earlier internships include a role at Melbourne IT Group, where a customer experience framework was developed post-merger. Daniel holds a Bachelor's degree in Cognitive Science from Yale University, earned between 2016 and 2020, and completed secondary education at Sydney Grammar School from 2010 to 2015.
