Jacob Wichelns

Jacob Wichelns, Ed.D., is currently an Assistant Principal at the School District of Pickens County, serving in this capacity since May 2020. In addition to overseeing physical education and social studies at Daniel High School, Wichelns also holds the position of Assistant Athletic Director, having been elected as President of the Anderson/Oconee/Pickens Athletic Conference. Prior roles include Athletic Director and Social Studies Teacher at RC Edwards Middle School from 2021 to 2023. Wichelns has a notable coaching background, highlighted by achievements such as leading the track and field team to AAA State Runner-Up finishes in 2024 and 2025 and contributing to SC AAA State Championships in football during the years 2020, 2021, and 2023. Wichelns holds a Master of Education in Teaching and Learning from Clemson University and is pursuing a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership at Liberty University, building on a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Clemson University.
