Jim Sloan

Jim Sloan is an experienced manuscript creative currently working at Scribe Media since March 2023. With a long-standing freelance role as an editor and writer for Adventures in the Neon Wilderness since 2008, Jim has expertise in editing, writing, interactive media design, strategic communications, and publication development. Previously, Jim served as a publishing leader at Oregon State University from February 2013 to March 2023, collaborating with a team to design and edit various publications and multimedia projects. Prior experience includes a communications specialist role at the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension and a senior editor position at the Reno Gazette-Journal, where Jim contributed to numerous investigative and public service reports. Jim's career began at the Reno Gazette-Journal as an assistant managing editor overseeing multiple newsroom departments. Jim holds a BA in Journalism and Environmental Science from the University of Maine and has additional education from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
