Chen Ran

Chen Ran is an accomplished academic and researcher with extensive experience in the field of biology, particularly neuroscience. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Scripps Research since November 2023, Chen has also held the position of Associate Personnel at Boston Children's Hospital and Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School, collaborating with Dr. Stephen Liberles on neural coding of visceral signals. Previous roles include a Biology PhD Student and Teaching Assistant at Stanford University, where responsibilities encompassed teaching various biology courses. Prior experience comprises a Research Assistant position at Tsinghua University focused on learning and memory, teaching at The Affiliated High School of Peking University, and a Research Intern role at Washington University in St. Louis studying circadian rhythms. Chen holds a Ph.D. in Biology from Stanford University and a BS in Biology from Peking University.
