Priya Kumar, MD, MHCM, FSCAI has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Priya began their career in 2007 as an Interventional Cardiologist at Self Regional Healthcare and Piedmont Cardiology Associates. While at Self Regional Healthcare, they served various roles including Chief Medical Officer, Medical Director of Cardiovascular Services, and President of Medical Staff. Priya continues to hold the position of Chief Medical Officer at Self Regional Healthcare. Additionally, they have a special interest in interventional cardiology and has worked as an Interventional Cardiologist at Piedmont Cardiology Associates until April 2016.
Priya Kumar, MD, MHCM, FSCAI completed their Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from Kerala University, Thiruvananthapuram from 1992 to 1998. Priya pursued their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Internal Medicine Residency Program from The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University from 2000 to 2001, and later from Saint Louis University from 2001 to 2003. Priya then went on to complete their fellowships in Cardiology from East Carolina University from 2003 to 2006, and in Interventional Cardiology Residency Program from East Carolina University from 2006 to 2007. Recently, they obtained a Master's degree in Healthcare Management from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health from 2019 to 2021.
