Christoph Buchta has a diverse work experience in procurement and purchasing roles. Christoph began their career as a Senior Consultant at BPU GmbH from 1997 to 1999. Christoph then joined Bayer Holding Ltd. in 1999 as a Purchasing Manager for Organic Base Chemicals, managing a spending of 135 Mio Euro. From 2004 to 2006, Buchta worked at Ecolab as the European Senior Purchasing Manager, responsible for setting up European sourcing strategies and streamlining the supplier portfolio. Christoph also served as the SAP Procurement Team Lead, developing global purchasing processes and successfully implementing them in SAP. Additionally, as the Group Manager Chemicals, they focused on negotiations of various inorganic and organic chemicals for European plants within a global network. From 2010 to 2018, Buchta worked at LANXESS, holding various roles including Global Head of Procurement for Business Unit Rheinchemie Additives and Vice President of Global Procurement and Logistics. Since 2018, they have been serving as the CPO at SEMPERIT AG.
Christoph Buchta pursued their education in the field of chemistry. In 1984, they enrolled at The University of Göttingen and obtained a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry in 1993. Later, in 1994 and 1995, they engaged in post-doctoral research at the University of Naples Federico II in Italy, focusing specifically on Soot formation research.
