Hafiiz Osman

Hafiiz Osman has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Hafiiz is currently working at SepPure Technologies as the Chief Operating Officer, a position they have held since May 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Vice President - Business Development & Operations for the same company from May 2021 to May 2023.

Before joining SepPure Technologies, Hafiiz worked at Sembcorp Marine Ltd as a Programme Manager for Renewables, Electrification & Digital. During their tenure from July 2018 to May 2021, they successfully implemented cyber-risk management methodologies to strengthen the cyber-resilience of maritime and offshore assets. Hafiiz also developed and executed an implementation roadmap for a yard-wide OT network infrastructure and conducted market sizing of offshore wind markets.

From 2012 to 2018, Hafiiz worked at Sembawang Shipyard, where they held two roles. Hafiiz first served as a Senior Engineer for Technology Commercialisation, leading statutory and class type approvals for Ballast Water Treatment System product series. Hafiiz also led successful marine type approval tests and explosion-proof design certifications. Later, they worked as a Design Engineer for Technology Development, focusing on technology assessment, software development, test protocol development, and explosion-proof design certifications.

Hafiiz started their career in 2010 as a Research Engineer at the National University of Singapore. There, they designed and constructed a pilot-scale coal processing equipment and performed simulations to investigate granular flow and heat transfer characteristics in a screw conveyor heater system.

In 2009, Hafiiz completed a summer internship at A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research, where they worked on Smart Microgrid projects. Hafiiz also gained valuable experience in oil storage technology during a summer internship at the National University of Singapore in 2008. Their achievements include performing FEM studies on aboveground fuel storage tanks and designing a novel Semi-Underground Fuel Storage Tank (SUFST), for which they received a provisional patent.

Throughout their work experience, Hafiiz has acquired a range of skills such as PLC programming, HMI design, type approval testing, ATEX and IECEx certifications, discrete element modeling, user-defined function scripting, production engineering, project management, and finite element modeling using tools like Abaqus, API 650, and API 653.

- From 2022 to 2023, Hafiiz attended NUS Business School and earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration, Management and Operations.

- From 2014 to 2018, Hafiiz studied at the University of Glasgow and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Power Ultrasonics.

- In 2010 and 2012, Hafiiz attended the National University of Singapore and completed a Master of Engineering degree in Industrial Process (Clean Coal Technology).

- From 2006 to 2010, Hafiiz earned a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) degree in Energy Systems from the National University of Singapore.

- In 2009, Hafiiz briefly attended UC Irvine and obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering.
