James Wells has a diverse work experience in the insurance and risk management industry. James started their career as an Account Executive at Underwriters Services INC. in 1974. James then moved on to Woodruff Sawyer, where they worked as an Assistant Vice-President from 1978 to 1983. Wells joined Pettit Morry Company of California in 1983 as a Vice-President and Manager, a role they held until 1995. In 1976, they also attended the Aetna Life and Casualty Home Office Sale School to specialize in Property and Casualty Insurance. In 1977, James briefly participated in a program at Lloyds of London/Institute British Companies, though the specific degree or field of study is not mentioned. Later, in 1995, they attended the College of Insurance to further their knowledge in Property and Casualty. Finally, in 1998, James attended Harvard Business School for Executive Education.
