Tae Meon Bae is an experienced Principal Research Scientist currently at SHARP Laboratories of America since September 2022, with previous roles at Ofinno, Alibaba Group, and SK planet. Notable contributions include advancements in AI-based video compression resulting in significant BD-Rate enhancements, the development of user analytics for pay TV systems, and pioneering work in cloud streaming technologies. Tae Meon Bae also served as CTO at SK Entrix, where a hybrid cloud system was developed that reduced total cost of ownership, and contributed to the first commercial launch of cloud streaming services for IPTV and Cable TV. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Information & Communication Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, where significant research on H.264 Scalable Video Coding was conducted.
