Omar Abudayyeh

Omar Abudayyeh is an accomplished researcher and entrepreneur with extensive experience in gene editing and biotechnology. Currently serving as Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School and Investigator at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Omar also holds the position of Director of Gene Editing at Mass General Brigham's Gene and Cell Therapy Institute. As a co-founder of several companies, including Tome Biosciences, Sherlock Biosciences, and Proof Diagnostics, Omar has played a pivotal role in advancing diagnostic tools and therapies. Previous appointments include McGovern Institute Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and MD/PhD student at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, where Omar focused on developing novel CRISPR tools. Omar's educational background includes dual PhDs in Medical Engineering and Medical Physics from Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, following a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical and Biological Engineering from MIT.
