Charles de Simone has a diverse work experience in the financial industry. Charles started their career as a Chief Analyst at Interfax, specializing in China Metals report from 2004 to 2005. In 2006, they worked as a Summer Financial Analyst at Overseas Private Investment Corporation. Later, they joined Oliver Wyman as a Consultant from 2007 to 2009. At Oliver Wyman, they gained experience in various roles. In 2009, Charles joined SIFMA (Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association) as a Vice President. In this role, they were responsible for coordinating and leading SIFMA's engagement around a range of risk, resiliency, cybersecurity, operations, and technology issues. Charles worked directly with C-level management at global securities firms, US and international regulators, and industry utilities. Charles managed key projects including blockchain and distributed ledger technologies, as well as cybersecurity exercises and weakness diagnostics for the securities industry.
Charles de Simone received their BA in Politics and Economics from Harvard University, graduating in 2001. In 2003, they pursued a Harvard-Yenching Fellowship at Nanjing University, specializing in Chinese studies. Charles then went on to complete their MA in International Business and Finance at The Fletcher School at Tufts University, graduating in 2007.
