Erik Mallens

Erik Mallens is an experienced legal professional specializing in intellectual property (IP) matters, currently serving as Senior IP Counsel at Signify since May 2018. In this role, Erik provides guidance on various IP issues, including the development of a robust IP portfolio, conducting IP risk assessments, and advising on joint development projects and licensing agreements. Prior to Signify, Erik held similar positions at Philips Lighting and Philips Intellectual Property & Standards, where responsibilities included developing IP strategies to protect business interests. Erik began his career as a software developer at Philips Consumer Electronics and later worked as a project leader at TNO, focusing on air purification research. Erik holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology and has completed training as a European and Dutch Patent Attorney.
