Before joining SIMKHAI, Dawn was the Director of Brand Management at The Gantry New York in 2015. Dawn W. also worked as a Product Manager at R H I É LLC in 2013 and as a Production Manager at Tally Taylor Inc. in 2012.
Dawn's career in the fashion industry started in 2005 as a Senior Designer & Product Developer at Jun Hui Fashion Company Limited. Dawn W. later became the Director of P.D and Production at Tonghui International. Ltd from 2006 to 2011.
Dawn W. Mai has a diverse education history. Dawn W. obtained a Master of Professional Study (M.P.S) degree in Design Management from Pratt Institute between 2012 and 2014. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree in Fashion Design from Parsons School of Design - The New School, from 2001 to 2005. Dawn also has a Foundation degree in Art & Design from the University of the Arts London, which they completed in 2001. In 1999 to 2000, they attained an A-level from Elmslie Girls' School, with a focus on English Literature, Fine Art, and Textile.

Jonathan Simkhai honed his technical skills at Parsons School of Design and the Fashion Institute of Technology before launching his first womenswear line in New York City. An early inductee to the CFDA Incubator program, he quickly developed an eye for craft and quality. Today he leads the brand’s creative studio, drawing inspiration from his travels and the cities he and his husband call home.
