Michael Hooks has a diverse work experience in the field of assistive technology. Michael started their career as an Adjunct Instructor at Northern Illinois University in 1998 and later served as an Assistive Technology Specialist at the Washington State School for the Blind. In 1998, they founded Next Level Assistive Technology, Inc and held the position of CEO until 2018. Following that, they worked as a Business Owner at Northwest Assistive Technology Group from 2013 to 2019. Michael then served as the AAC Director at Lincare Holdings, Inc from 2018 to 2021. Michael Hooks completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education from Concordia University-Portland between 1991 and 1994. Michael then pursued a Master of Science in Education with a focus on Assistive Technology - Special Education and Visual Impairments from Northern Illinois University from 1996 to 1998.
