Bijaya Dhakal, PhD, D(ABMM) has a strong background in molecular laboratory management, clinical microbiology, and research. Starting in 2009, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Utah School of Medicine, focusing on microbiology research. In 2012, they joined ARUP Laboratories / University of Utah School of Medicine as a Clinical Microbiology Fellow. During their time there, they gained hands-on experience in clinical microbiology. In 2014, Bijaya became the Director of the Molecular Laboratory at Sonic Reference Laboratory, where they currently lead the laboratory's molecular testing operations.
Bijaya Dhakal, PhD, D(ABMM) has a comprehensive education history in the field of Microbiology and Immunology. Bijaya began their post-secondary education at Nepal jobs, where they obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Microbiology from 1996 to 1998. Bijaya then pursued further education at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, earning a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Life Science from 2001 to 2003.
Continuing their academic journey, Dhakal enrolled at the University of Utah School of Medicine, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Microbiology and Immunology from 2003 to 2009.
In addition to their extensive educational background, Dhakal has also obtained notable certifications. Bijaya achieved the status of American Board of Medical Microbiology Diplomate [D(ABMM)] from the American Society for Microbiology in August 2014. Furthermore, they hold a certification of M(ASCP) from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), although the specific details regarding the month and year of obtaining this certification are not provided.
