Farid Farahmand

Farid Farahmand is a prominent figure in the fields of engineering and technology, currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer at Tidal Medical Technologies since December 2021. Farid has held academic roles at Sonoma State University since 2009, progressing from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor and currently Department Chair within the School of Engineering and Science. Since May 2015, Farid has also been affiliated with Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory as Visiting Faculty, and since November 2014, as a Fulbright Specialist with the Fulbright Commission, focusing on STEM teaching and research in Sub-Saharan Africa. Previous positions include a Fulbright Scholar from January to August 2013, Assistant Professor at Central Connecticut State University from 2005 to 2008, and various engineering roles at Alcatel-Lucent and DSC Communications. Farid earned a Ph.D. in Optical Network Communications from The University of Texas at Dallas between 2002 and 2005.
