Troy Davidson has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of cybersecurity and information technology. Troy is currently the Chief Information Security Officer at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) since 2023. Before that, they worked at Enbridge as the Director of Cybersecurity Strategy, Governance, and Advisory from 2019 to 2023, and as the Head of Global Security Operations Centre and Vulnerability Management from 2019 to 2020. Prior to Enbridge, Troy was a Mentor/Community Instructor at SANS Institute from 2010 to 2019, and an Enterprise Information Security Architect at Suncor Energy from 2015 to 2019. Troy also held various roles at Cenovus Energy, SPIE (Security Professionals Information Exchange), Calgary Police Service, Energy Resources Conservation Board, Secure Computing, and Calgary Police Service throughout their career.
Troy Davidson has a comprehensive education history in the field of IT security and risk. Troy obtained multiple certifications from the SANS Institute, including GCIA, GCFW, GCIH, GAWN, GSLC, and GICSP, during the period from 2006 to 2019. In 2012, they attended the Gartner Academy for Leadership Development, focusing on CIO Development. Earlier in their career, from 1993 to 1995, they pursued Power Engineering Technology at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), and from 1997 to 1999, they earned a 2-year technical diploma in Computer Technology with honors from the same institution. Additionally, Troy has obtained various certifications such as Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK) from the Cloud Security Alliance in 2017 and ITIL V3 Foundation Certified in 2015.
