SpIntellx
Burak is the Lead Engineer for SpIntellx’s software platform HistoMapr™. He has 15+ years of experience working in the field of computational pathology, including his Ph.D. work at Bilkent University, Turkey. He has published novel computational pathology algorithms in the fields of decision support, advanced prognostic and diagnostic tests and precision medicine. Before joining SpIntellx, Burak was a researcher at the Carnegie-Mellon University and then a research assistant professor in the School of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. At SpIntellx, Burak is building the explainable AI platforms by modeling diagnostically relevant spatial tissue patterns from histopathological images. Burak was the PI on the recently completed NSF SBIR Phase I grant demonstrating the power of explainable AI platform for breast pathology. He is named inventor on several patents and is author of 25+ scientific publications.

SpIntellx harnesses the computational power of proprietary unbiased spatial analytics, spatial systems pathology, and explainable artificial intelligence (xAI) to extract information from patient primary disease pathology samples to create predictive knowledge that is required to develop personalized therapeutic strategies, identify potential novel targets for drug discovery, optimally select patient cohorts for clinical trials and improve the predictive power of prognostics/diagnostics.
