The Summer Science Program
Amy Gillette is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in leadership roles within the nonprofit and auditing sectors. Currently serving as Chief Administrative Officer at The Summer Science Program since June 2023, Amy previously held multiple senior finance positions at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science from January 2010 to September 2023, including Chief Financial Officer, Senior Vice President of Finance, Vice President of Finance, and Director of Finance. Prior to that, Amy worked at Grant Thornton as a Senior Audit Associate from January 2005 to January 2010. Amy holds a Master of Science in Taxation and dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Economics, all obtained from the University of Central Florida between 2000 and 2005.

The Summer Science Program
The Summer Science Program is an independent nonprofit operating residential programs in experimental science research for gifted teenagers, on several college campuses. Each program is an immersion into experimental science, designed to challenge and inspire talented rising seniors from around the world. Working in teams of three, participants complete a research project from beginning to end: either in Astrophysics – near-earth asteroid imaging and orbit determination – or Biochemistry – fungal enzyme inhibition and drug discovery. Each team acquires its own original data and performs its own analysis. Field trips and guest speakers round out an intense 39-day schedule. Info and application at summerscience.org. Alumni and former faculty from every SSP program since 1959 are voting members for life, making SSP the only summer program governed, operated, and largely funded by people who directly experienced it themselves … powerful testimony to its impact.
