Risa Wechsler serves as the Director of the Kavli Institute for Particle Astrophysics and Cosmology since September 2018. Risa has held various academic positions at Stanford University and SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory since September 2006, progressing from Assistant Professor to Professor. Previously, Risa was a Hubble Fellow at the University of Chicago from September 2003 to August 2006 and a Research Fellow at the University of Michigan from September 2001 to August 2003. Risa Wechsler earned a PhD in Physics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, (1996-2001) and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1992-1996).
