Kathryn Abbott

Kathryn Abbott currently serves as the Executive Director of the Serve Alaska Commission since December 2016 and as the Senior Manager for Education Impact Partnerships at United Way of Anchorage since August 2015. In these roles, Kathryn has successfully led strategic planning initiatives, fundraised for educational projects, and engaged community stakeholders to improve student academic outcomes. Prior experience includes positions at the UA Center for Economic Development, where Kathryn managed outreach and training programs, coordinated the AmeriCorps VISTA umbrella, and developed economic development training curricula. Kathryn began career work as a Special Projects Coordinator with South West Alaska Municipal Conference, focusing on energy efficiency and transportation issues. A graduate of College of Charleston, Kathryn holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics.
