Jim Beck currently serves as the Commissioner of Insurance and Fire Safety for the State of Georgia, a position held since January 2019. Prior to this role, Jim was the General Manager of Operations at the Georgia Underwriting Association from January 2012 to January 2019 and served as the Deputy Insurance Commissioner for the State of Georgia from 2008 to 2011. Earlier in his career, Jim held the position of Senior Director of Government Relations at Nationwide Insurance from March 1997 to November 2008 and was the Deputy Commissioner of Insurance at the Georgia Department of Insurance from May 1995 to March 1997. Jim Beck earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business/Corporate Communications from the University of West Georgia between 1980 and 1985.
