Mark Heizer currently serves as a Policy Analyst for the Building Codes Division of the State of Oregon since May 2010, focusing on Energy and Sustainability Codes. Additionally, Mark provides technical support for the Oregon Energy Efficiency Specialty Code and Reach Code within the same division. From August 2011 to January 2015, Mark held the position of Vice Chair for the ICC Sustainability, Energy, & High-Performance Building Code Action Committee, advocating for code change proposals related to energy provisions. Prior to these roles, Mark gained extensive experience as a Senior Mechanical Engineer and Sustainability Expert at Interface Engineering from June 1996 to May 2010 and served as a Mechanical Engineer for Carastro from 1994 to 1996, specializing in medical, commercial, and institutional projects. Mark’s early career included positions at the University of Tampa and Brady and Anglin as a Mechanical Engineer. Mark holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology, completed in 1983.
