Michael Cragun has extensive experience in public service and leadership roles, currently serving as Tax Commissioner for the State of Utah since January 2005, following an appointment by Governor Gary R. Herbert. Prior to this role, Cragun was Deputy Chief of Staff to the Lieutenant Governor, where a significant achievement included overseeing the implementation of a statewide voting system. Cragun also held positions as a County Commissioner for Davis County, Academic Dean and Paralegal Department Chair at Mountain West College, and as an Estate Planning Lawyer. Additionally, Cragun is the owner and FDI Certified Floral Designer of The Flower Valet, a family business established in 2011. Educational qualifications include a Juris Doctor from Lewis & Clark Law School, a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Brigham Young University, and a certificate in Floral Design from the Floral Design Institute.
