Kate Satterthwaite

Kate Satterthwaite has extensive experience in government and public service, currently serving as Deputy Chief Executive and Chief of Staff at Stats NZ since June 2021, following a series of leadership roles in external and government relations. Prior to this, Kate held senior positions at the Ministry of Social Development from 2010 to 2021, including General Manager of Ministerial and Executive Services and oversight of youth transition initiatives. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, and a Master of Science Part I from Victoria University of Wellington, where Kate also contributed to teaching and research in human geography and development studies.
