Edmund Synakowski

Vice Provost For Research And Innovation at Stevens Institute of Technology

Edmund Synakowski currently serves as the Vice Provost for Research and Innovation at Stevens Institute of Technology, while also holding a joint professorship in the Physics Department and Systems and Enterprises Department since November 2022. Prior to this role, Synakowski was the Vice President for Research and a Professor in the Physics and Astronomy Department at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas from August 2021 to October 2022, and the Vice President for Research and Economic Development at the University of Wyoming from August 2017 to August 2021. Synakowski's previous experience includes positions at the U.S. Department of Energy as Associate Director of Science, and leadership roles at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory, where significant contributions to fusion energy research were made. Synakowski holds a Ph.D. in Physics from The University of Texas at Austin and a B.A. in Physics from The Johns Hopkins University.
