Richard Obermeier

Richard Obermeier is an accomplished researcher with extensive experience in signal processing and algorithm development. Currently serving as Lead Researcher at STR since April 2019, Richard previously held various positions at BBN Technologies from July 2010 to March 2019, including Staff Scientist II and Software Engineer roles, where development of algorithms for radar and acoustic systems was prominent. Additional experience includes work as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Gordon Center for Subsurface Sensing and Imaging Systems, contributing to electromagnetic simulation software. Richard holds a Doctor of Philosophy and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University, alongside ongoing Bachelor of Science studies in Electrical Engineering and Physics. Education commenced at Boston Latin School, culminating in a comprehensive academic background in engineering and technology.
