Darrell Gillespie has a diverse work experience in the energy industry. Darrell started working at Cenovus Energy in 2011 as a Commissioning Specialist, where they stayed until 2013. Darrell then joined Husky Energy in 2015 and held the position of Operations Supervisor/1st Class Power Engineer until 2018. From 2018 to 2019, Darrell worked as a Design Specialist/1st Class Power Engineer at Husky Energy. Currently, they are employed at Strathcona Resources Ltd. as a Steam Chief, starting in April 2021.
Darrell Gillespie completed their education at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) from 2005 to 2007, earning a diploma in Power Engineering Technology. In 2018, they obtained the 1st Class Power Engineer certification from the Technical Safety Authority of Saskatchewan.
