Melanie Smith is a seasoned professional in environmental assessment and approvals, currently serving as Vice President at Strum Consulting since September 2022. With extensive experience, Melanie previously held the position of Team Lead at the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada from September 2017 to September 2022. Prior roles include Project Lead for the Risk-Based Audit Project and Environmental Analyst at Nova Scotia Environment, where Melanie provided strategic insights to modernize inspection services and delivered policy support. Melanie’s career began with various roles in environmental research and assessment, including positions as Environmental Specialist, Project Officer, and Environmental Researcher across multiple organizations. Melanie holds a Master of Environmental Studies from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Environmental Science from Acadia University.
